So what exactly is social book marking? Of course most of us are familiar with book marking, or storing website links in your favorites folder but social book marking takes this concept one step further. It enables you to gather links to resource websites on your own website and make them available to others. You can either make them available to a select few, like a network or completely public so that all your visitors can access them. It will help you with search engine optimization.

How do you do this?

You will save your bookmarks to a website, then tag them with specific keywords. These keywords should be relevant to your business subject. You do not have to save the URL just use a certain keyword.  Firstly you will register at a social book marking sites like; del.icio.us, Digg, StumbleUpon, and Reddit. You can share the bookmarks, store and tag them on these sites. Visitors will browse through the bookmarks by keywords, your site popularity or name of the person.

By putting keyword tags on your bookmarks, you will also make them available to people using the search engines. This will help to improve Page Ranking and bring you up in the search engines. It will of course bring good quality search engine traffic to your site.

What are the advantages to your business?

  1. Provides valuable resources to your visitors: You will be giving added value to your visitors and encourage them to visit your website more often. This will make your site more popular and increase visitors.

In other words they must all be related to your special niche business. In this way visitors coming to your site through your bookmarks will be warm ready to buy visitors.
