Make Money When You Think Outside The Box
It does not matter what sort of marketing you are doing for your business. It can be direct, passive, social, or even offline, your success will depend on how you are comparing with your competition. All the regular forms of marketing are highly competitive. There are literally 1000’s upon 1000’s of marketers doing the same thing as you. This results in the consumer seeing the same thing over and over again. The old saying ”familiarity breeds contempt” becomes a reality, as people get sick and tired of seeing the same type of ads and promotions again and again. This is turn will lead to lack of interest in the products being sold.
So how can you break this cycle of disinterest? The answer is surprisingly simple. Think outside the box. Now what do we mean by this? Simply put stand out from the crowd and be original. Let’s take one of the most competitive fields, advertising. Thinking outside the box means looking beyond the normal and regular way of doing things. It means thinking of ways your ad will look different and have a different concept to make an impact. In short it means having a different approach to the rest of the ads out there.
Advertisements are thrown at the consumer wherever they go. From glaring billboards to small classified ads, it’s all there and for the most part it is the same thing being regurgitated by 100’s and 100’s of advertisers. Consumers pass by these ads or read them on a daily basis. There is plenty of exposure no doubt for your ads, but no real interest is sparked in the readers because nothing stands out in their mind. They have simply seen it too many times.
So how do you stand out from your competition and think outside the box? How do you make your ad get your prospective customer’s attention? You will need to make sure your ad is different and unique. Try to find some ways of making your advertising stand out and not only be noticed but remembered.
When you place your ad in publications and websites it is indeed one of many advertisements your reader will see. In order to make an impression on your reader, it is very necessary to think outside the box and be different. Here is how you can make start.
Start by thinking of all the different ways that you can present your ad and make it look different. Then see how many of these ways will really make your reader sit up and take notice. Try to make your ad look different from the rest of the ads, so that it will be noticed. A small example of this is the co-op free ads page where you will see the free ads for the IT Pro Vision newsletter. When you look at the page you will see sections in different colors. This is not done to look pretty but to break up the normal sea of black print and get the ads noticed. By using different colors the ads are more noticeable and easier for the reader to look at and remember.
This is but one example of bringing a different concept into your ads. Another way to think beyond the normal box ,is to list all the different ways that your ad can make your reader curious, and eager to know more about your product. Most of us belong to one or two affiliate programs. Look through all the ads that your sponsor has provided and see the different ways that that they have done this. List some more benefits of the product you are selling and see how you can adapt these ads to trigger your prospective buyer’s curiosity by using a different approach. You can use similar words but use benefits that others will not have thought of. In this way you will ad will be different from the rest and be noticed and hopefully remembered by your reader.
By these examples you will be able to see how you can make your advertising stand out, when you think outside the box and explore new ways to advertise. However it does not stop here. Marketing is a large field and you can make an impact with your marketing by using different concepts and techniques. This is the way to get ahead of your competition by thinking out of the box and using original ideas. Your marketing will then have a bigger impact and you will make more money than just sticking to the norm.
