Mailers - Your Simple Key To Profits

One of the most useful tools you will ever use is your autoresponder. Many times this software is used by spammers giving it a bad name but used wisely it can not only save you money but bring profits as well.

There are a variety of tasks an autoresponder can help you with. Here is a brief overview. The most common uses are:

Newsletters-sending out and managing lists
Management of multiple lists. For example:
o Special announcement lists-people will subscribe to this for information on new products and services (you can offer this list an exclusive discount)
o Customer list
Sending ads and announcements-especially useful for Joint Ventures and special promotions
Mailers

Today we will talk about mailers. Surprisingly enough many people do not take advantage of this powerful promotion tool. Firstly what is a mailer and how do you set one up? Quite simply a mailer is just a series of messages sent to your list or lists at timed intervals. Here are the steps to set it up:

Prepare your messages.
Load them into your autoresponder and pre schedule them to go out at set intervals. Timings will depend on your purpose
If you have not already done so load your lists into your autoresponder
Start your autoresponder on day 0.

Mailers can help you with a number of tasks the most common ones being:

Backend selling
Lead conversion
Announcement list

Backend selling: this can be very profitable when done correctly. In fact you can often make more on your backend sales than your original product. The reason being that once someone has bought a good product from you they will have confidence and trust in you to buy more. Sequence for backend products should be carefully done, as you do not want to alienate customers by advertising too much. Here are the steps:

Your first email will be a thank you note immediately after purchase.
Follow up a couple of days later to check that they received it and everything is ok. You can include a FAQ list and a discount for a related product as a thank you for purchasing.
This is a small but very valuable mailer, as you often close a few sales like this. If they need more information you can include a link to your autoresponder for a mailer about your product or service. This one will be the same sequential timing as your lead conversion mailer

Lead conversion:

Set up your lead generation page-this can often be a squeeze page. This is linked to your ad campaigns (direct ads or Google campaigns).
Set up an autoresponder link on your lead page. A command to click here for information
Load your messages
Time the sequence intervals
A good timed interval for lead conversion would be daily for 7-10 days
The purpose of this mailer will be to give more information and to leads and convert them into customers. The 1st ones will be pre selling with facts about your product or service and the last 1-2 will still be giving information but attempting to close the sales

Another mailer is a special announcement list. People, often your subscribers, will join your list to find out information on your latest products and services. You must be very sure these are products and services specifically tailored for their needs and wants. Timing for these mailers could be to send one then another 2-3 days later the third would be after a week. Be careful not to overdo this as this will work in a reverse way and lose you a lot of sales.

Be careful never to send email of any sort especially mailers to those who have never asked for it. As you know this is called SPAM and can have serious consequences. Always send to your opt in list or to those who have specifically requested it.So now you know how to set up your mailers go ahead and see them bring in the profits
