Increase Your SEO Rankings with Google
Google is the number one Search engine that every Webmaster is fighting for a place in. It does not matter what you sell if you are serious about search engine marketing you need to take Google into consideration or forget about search engine promotion. Many webmasters spend their whole lives it seems trying to figure out what the mighty Google requires to place a website in its top 10 ranking. However you do not have to do this.
Google’s requirements depend on its algorithms. These are the ”rules” and criteria that the Google search engine uses. There are literally 100s of criteria making up search engine algorithms and it is quite impossible to know them all. The best way to handle Google is stick to the 2 major principles that weigh heavily in its ranking. These are:
Content: Google looks for relevant informative content that it’s search customers will find valuable. Good content will include but is not limited to:
a. Information and tips articles,
b. Product reviews
c. Articles about latest trends and news in your industry
d. Resources
A few tips when making content for your website: Include your best keyword or key phrase in your title. Do not make your title too long and try to make it direct and to the point. Do not duplicate your content. Make sure it is unique for each page. Make sure your content is at least 400 words or more for each article.
All content should be optimized. The easiest way to optimize content is to base each article review etc around one keyword. Remember to make it keyword rich not keyword stuffed. Excessive use of a keyword will penalize you in the search engine. Content made in this fashion will weigh heavily on your page rank and help your site to get better page ranking
Linking (especially back links) To get back links you can use some effective methods:
Link baiting: this is making your site a good source of information and resources so that webmasters will want to link to you, so that their visitors will get good resources and information. Ways to link bait are:
a. Making useful and intriguing content
b. Free downloads in exchange for links
c. Resources for related businesses
d. Article bank
Directories: submitting your site to the link directories are a good way to get back links. They will take a little time to include you but it will be worth it. Here are some guide lines:
e. As always be sure that the directory is not linking to poor quality or questionable sites.
f. Be sure the directory is in the major search engines, like Google, Yahoo, and MSN and the pages are being crawled and cached by the engines
g. There should be no redirects for the links or JavaScript and they should be in plain text. You can check the source for this. This will make sure that the search engines are finding these links.
h. Try to choose the ones that are checked manually.
Page Rank: is what Google uses to rank all the websites in its engine. You can download Google’s toolbar so that you can check your ranking. The higher your page ranks the better your position in the search engines. 3 is an average rank.
If you concentrate on good optimized content and build up back links to your site your page rank will increase and you will increase your SEO rankings with Google.
