Diversify Your Marketing With Offline Promotions-Offline VS Online

A common mistake many businesses make is separating offline and online marketing. To take your business to the next level whether it is an online or offline business you will need to make the most of both types of promotions. If you do not do this be assured your competition will and you will be the one left in the dust.

Take the humble business card for example. Not so long ago when someone handed you their business card it would have their name, company particulars, and a phone number to contact them. Now there is an important addition, the company website URL.

As more and more people come to the Internet you will see your market expanding rapidly. It does not matter what sort of business you are doing, in these modern times if you neglect your online market potential you are leaving literally 1000s on the table. I do not have to remind you who is going to pick that money up-that’s right your competition!

I pass by many retail stores these days that are just relying on foot traffic and barely making it. Many stores are simply being swallowed up by the large chain stores, when they could be surviving and thriving with online expansion. This holiday season explode your business by getting online and tapping into the large and growing market of Internet shoppers. With an online web presence there is no end to your potential.

Search engines are no longer just for the Global market; they can be used very effectively for local business as well. Search engines like Google have ways that searchers can pinpoint their search to the right country and city. Their search engine Froogle is very valuable for offline businesses as it allows searches to be made for your product and will even show a map for your location.

Of course it costs far less to advertise and promote online. The money that you will save on advertising can be used to expand and diversify your business online. Converting some of your products like books and cassettes into digital downloads will also save you even more money in shipping. Because of the numbers of people online you will be able to diversify more easily and find different niches in your market. This will allow you to increase profits dramatically.

There is another side of the coin, Internet businesses using offline methods. Given the large potential of the Internet, why would you the savvy online businessperson bother with offline marketing? Because not everyone has a computer, even in this electronic age, and you are missing a large section of the population just marketing online. Here is an example of offline marketing helping you. If you have a gift store, with some great items, that are selling like hot cakes, why not utilize the big dept. stores to sell your hot items to even more buyers. You can put your gifts on consignment at the local gift stores and increase sales. This is a great joint venture, win, win for both of you.

Magazines are another way to utilize the offline market. Although more expensive they can yield fantastic returns, when you target them correctly. Articles written for magazines and offline publications are wonderful ads for your business and you can get paid upward of $150 for your article. You can see how this can become quite profitable.

Free booklets and flyers can be dropped at related offline businesses and start a landslide of viral marketing. Bumper stickers can be effective for a general market. Of course do not forget that trusty little business card, with your information and website address on it.

As you can see there are many ways that you can crossover online and offline marketing. I am sure you can think of more. Sit down and make a list of all the ways you can market your business both offline and online to profit using multiple ways of marketing.
