    • Always use professional colors, especially on a business site. Unless you are into a specialized business you do not need to use a lot of bright colors and pretty pictures. Keep it simple; the normal business colors are dark font on a pale background. Usually black on white with red or blue as headlines.
    • Use professional font. Size 12 is usually the best for content. Times Roman. Ariel, Tahoma, or Veranda are the normal types of font to use.
    • Make sure you proof read everything. Do not let spelling mistakes and grammatical errors bring down your website. They look very unprofessional and will make your visitors lose confidence in you and your business.
  2. Optimization: Optimizing your website is important. If you do not do this you will lose out on a lot of quality free traffic. Be sure to do your keyword research and make your content keyword rich not keyword stuffed. Remember to put in description and title Meta tags.
  3. Quality content: To make a successful website it is very important to be sure to put quality content on it. This will achieve several goals:
    • Visitors will enjoy reading your articles and will return to your website to read more.
    • They will be impressed with your expertise and have more confidence on you and your business.
    • You can gather back links as other web masters will want to link to you and use your website as a valuable resource for their visitors.
    • You will ensure that your visitors will want to stay at your website and take a look at your offers.

If you do not have a good sales page you will never be able to sell your products or services, no matter how good they are.
  5. Newsletter: when visitors come to your website they will not always buy on their first visit. Therefore it becomes necessary to try to capture their email addresses so that you can build up a relationship with them and soft sell your products or service.

One of the best ways to do this is through a free newsletter. If visitors like your website then they will be happy to sign up for your free newsletter.
